Job Description
Reports to Grounds Director Job Summary - The general responsibility of the Landscaper is to maintain and improve the Shocco Springs landscape at a high level of excellence and beauty.
Summary of Essential Job Functions - Work to complete all assignments to standards and expectations given by director.
- Maintain and improve Shocco Springs grounds:
- Maintain all aspects of the landscape, including but not limited to pruning, trimming, mulching, planting, irrigation, spraying, spreading, weeding, transplanting, decorating
- Have a functional working knowledge of flower bedding and plant care
- Coordinate with the director on projects and plans
- Maintain equipment
- Maintain all grounds equipment per established Preventative Maintenance Procedures
- Keep all equipment clean and stored in proper location
- Keep all grounds, sidewalks, and roadways clean of litter and debris. Keep all trash bins and receptacles empty and clean. Transport all campus refuse to dumpster or landfill.
- Work safely. Help identify and eliminate any and all hazards to our guests, employees, and property.
- Accept miscellaneous assignments as agreed upon with the director.
Requirements

- Highly motivated and detail oriented
Job Related - High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience in landscape and gardening work preferred. Working knowledge in shrubs, plants, trees, annuals, perennials, and landscaping materials needed
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks in a pleasant and competent manner
- Ability to communicate (auditory, verbal, written) adeptly with guests, employees, and program personnel
- Available to work weekdays (Mon-Fri) with some occasional weekend shifts. Summer shifts are 6:30 AM to 3:15 PM. Normal shifts are 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA and other generally accepted standards
Physical - Ability to work outside in all weather conditions indigenous to Talladega County, AL
- Ability to abstain from use of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, and controlled substances
