About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager in UX to strategize and create the user experience for credit modeling, decisioning, and underwriting tools.
This role requires expertise in data-heavy applications, strong leadership skills, and a product-thinking mindset to streamline complex financial workflows.
The ideal candidate has experience designing for data visualization, machine learning (ML)/AI-powered applications, and financial decisioning tools.
This is a strategic role where you will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business analysts to create intuitive, high-impact solutions that enhance underwriting efficiency, risk assessment, and credit decisioning processes.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Manager, you will:
Reimagine credit policy workflows, translating complex business requirements into intuitive, data-driven user experiences.
Leverage your expertise in data analysis, visualization, and business applications to design solutions that bring clarity to complex datasets.
Champion best practices in UX and product thinking, influencing both the team and the broader Dealer organization.
Act as a change agent, ensuring modern design methodologies and automation principles are integrated into credit policy processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring ML-driven automation into traditionally manual workflows.
Thrive in ambiguity, helping shape early-phase projects and guiding stakeholders through the transformation process.

Basic Qualifications
At least 6 years of experience with UX design
Preferred Qualifications
Experience understanding complex Data environments
Strong business acumen
Excellent communication and soft skills to deliver complex ideas
Experience updating process and procedures with automation and machine learning
Portfolio of Data visualizations samples and case studies

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Plano, TX: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Manager, Design
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
