Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sommelier to join our team. As our Sommelier, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our guests' dining experience through your extensive wine knowledge and exceptional service skills.

  • Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that complements our menu and meets our guests' preferences
  • Provide friendly, responsive, and educational wine service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests
  • Offer expert recommendations on wine pairings to enhance guests' meal choices
  • Manage wine storage including inventory control, stock rotation, and temperature monitoring
  • Conduct staff training sessions on wine knowledge, service techniques, and food pairing principles
  • Collaborate with the chef and management team to develop wine programs and special events
  • Maintain relationships with wine suppliers and stay informed about industry trends
  • Ensure proper wine service, including decanting, temperature control, and glassware selection
  • Assist in creating and updating the restaurant's wine menu and promotional materials
  • Monitor and analyze wine sales data to optimize inventory and pricing strategies
  • Assist with general floor service duties 
Qualifications

  • Certification from a recognized sommelier program (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers)
  • Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails from various regions and styles
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Proficiency in food and wine pairing principles
  • Physical stamina to work long hours in a standing position and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Impeccable grooming standards and professional appearance
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service
