Job Description
Job Title: Surgical Technician

Job Specialty: OR Tech - Operating Room

Job Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 10-Hour Days with varied starts between 06:00-09:00, call included, every other weekend

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 2 years of OR experience

License: Not required for submission

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), COVID Vaccine

Must-Have:
- At least 2 years of experience in an operating room setting
- Experience with Cerner Surginet preferred
- Ability to handle ortho, neuro, ortho spine, CV, general, gynecology, urology, and ENT cases
- Experience with CV or robotic cases is preferred

Job Description:
- Work in a facility with 4 beds in the main OR and 8 beds in the pavilion
- Maintain a 1:1 nursing ratio; nurses circulate, ability to scrub is a plus but not required
- Handle 15-25 cases per day and approximately 400 per month, with 20-25% being inpatient cases
- Assist in cases, focusing primarily on ortho, neuro, ortho spine, CV, and other specialized surgeries
- Critical patients go directly to ICU from the OR
- Participate in a specific orientation program that includes one week of paperwork and one week partnered with a preceptor
- Anesthesia is exclusively performed by anesthesiologists
- Call schedule involves one shift per week, every fourth weekend; holidays are covered by call.
- Hospital provides scrub color attire.
- No evening or weekend shifts unless on call
- Ensure adherence to the very particular processes in the OR suites
