Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in fiber optics, wireless radio bridges, OTDR tools, and network analysis tools. The candidate should also demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a passion for learning new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and inspect underground splice enclosures and in-cabinet fiber termination panels.
• Perform fiber optic splicing for both single and multi-mode fibers, following industry best practices.
• Document fiber optic splicing work using network documentation tools and Visio.
• Configure and monitor point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless radio bridges.
• Diagnose and resolve wireless radio performance issues, including signal quality, throughput, and security settings.
• Utilize OTDR tools to perform fiber traces, identify fiber breaks, and verify new fiber installations.
• Monitor and maintain network systems using tools like SolarWinds and Cisco Firepower.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot Ethernet network communication problems.
• Develop and implement innovative work solutions to improve operations and efficiency.
• Collaborate with multiple levels of the organization to implement network improvements.

Technical Skills Required:

• Fiber Optics Expertise : Handling, inspecting, and maintaining fiber optic networks.
• Splice Documentation : Experience maintaining and updating fiber optic splice drawings and documentation.
• Wireless Radio Bridges : Configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of wireless radio systems.
• OTDR Tools and Analysis : Fiber testing, locating faults, and verifying network integrity.
• Network Analysis Tools : Experience with SolarWinds, Cisco Firepower, and other Ethernet network diagnostic tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field OR Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
• At least 3 years of experience working with Cisco switches.
• Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a highly functional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with fiber management software.
• Knowledge of security best practices for wireless radio bridges.
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Visio.
